How is the GRE scored? (raw score vs. scaled score)

Your raw score (number of correct answers) gets converted to a scaled score between 130 and 170 for each section. Because the GRE is section-adaptive, the conversion accounts for the difficulty of your second section. ETS uses a process called equating to keep scores comparable across different test forms and dates.
