Is GRE verbal important for engineering programs?

Most engineering programs weight quant scores more heavily, but a solid verbal score still helps your overall application. A very low verbal score can be a red flag even for STEM programs, especially if the program involves research or writing. You don't need a 165 verbal for engineering, but aim for a respectable score that doesn't raise questions.
