Is PowerPrep 1 easier than the real GRE?

PowerPrep 1 is untimed, which makes the experience feel easier, and ETS doesn't give Verbal or Quant scores for it. Even when students time themselves and score their own answers, most of our students report doing better on it than on the other PowerPrep tests or the real thing. The questions are real retired GRE questions, so it's good practice and an accurate example of the question types and format. But since it was adapted from an older free test used before the format change, we suspect it doesn't line up as well with the current exam's scoring. Use PowerPrep 1 to get familiar with real questions and the test interface, but don't treat any score you get from it as accurate.
