GRE FAQ › Study Planning & Preparation
How do I study for the GRE while working full-time?
Same core principles as studying full-time, just built around your work schedule. About 1 to 1.5 hours per day on weekdays is realistic for most working professionals. Study before work if you can — many people find mornings more effective than evenings. Set weekly goals for what you'll accomplish, not just hours. Make sure your study time is fully distraction-free. Don't count commute time as study time (vocab flashcards being the exception). Make up additional hours on weekends. It will take longer than if you had more time — plan accordingly.
