What was the old GRE format vs. the new shorter GRE?

In September 2023, ETS cut the GRE nearly in half. They removed the Argument essay (leaving just the Issue essay), eliminated the unscored experimental section, and dropped scored questions from 80 to 54. Total testing time went from about 3 hours 45 minutes to 1 hour 58 minutes. The score scales (130 to 170 for Verbal and Quant, 0 to 6 for Analytical Writing) stayed the same.
